The views on the nature of wisdom of humanistic-existential philosophers and psychologists, S. Kierkegor, Jung, Rogers, are analyzed in this paper. Such approach is compared with the cognitive oriented approach of P. Baltes. It is proposed that wisdom is a special psychogenetic ally based gift of human being that develops in the course of life. It is shown that the views on wisdom are associated with specific ideas about the nature of human mentality.
