Life values of the youth in Komi Republic at the turn of the century: cross-cultural aspect

The research data upon 57 values and cultural syndrome "collectivism-individualism" obtained using Swartz's method and Triandis's questionnaire respectively are analyzed. The subjects were graduates of the schools of Komi Republic. Ethnopsychological peculiarities of values in Komi and Russian ethnoses were distinguished.

Internet is considered as a new cultural space and its peculiar semiotic sphere is analyzed. There are presented the data obtained in self-image examination in users who are the main consumptive group of Internet culture and are called "Internet residents". Peculiarities of Internet communication are considered as a new cultural means mediating the development of self- consciousness.
