A Students Day

Oleg is a student. He lives in a new house which is at the corner of a beautiful avenue leading to the center of Zhytomyr. As a rule he gets up at seven oclock when the alarm-clock rings. He does gymnastics in front of the open window and goes into the bathroom. In the bathroom he shaves, washes with cold and warm water and soap. Sometimes if he has enough time he takes a bath. He dries himself with one of the towels and goes back to his room. Oleg dresses and brushes his hair in front of the mirror which is on the small table near his bed. Then he makes his bed. In ten minutes or so he is ready for breakfast. After the breakfast he puts on his hat and coat, takes his bag and leaves the house. As a rule he is very much in a hurry and walks fast to the bus stop. He is in a hurry because he does not want to be late for the first lecture which begins in half past eight. As the college in which he studies is not far away from his house it does not take him long to get there. Oleg usually gets to college a few minutes before eight. He takes off his hat and coat and leaves them in the cloak-room downstairs. Then he goes upstairs to the lecture-room which is on the second floor.

In the intervals between the lectures Oleg and his friend walk together in the corridor. At about 1 oclock he has his lunch at a students canteen. For his lunch he usually has hot fish or meat and some vegetables, and also a cup of tea and coffee. After lunch Oleg with some other his friend-students of the same group go to the library. As a rule Oleg goes home by bus but if it is a good weather he walks. Sometimes he has to attend the meeting or is busy with social work and so he has to stay in the college till 4 or 5 oclock in the afternoon.

As a rule Oleg has dinner at home. When he returns home he still has enough time to learn his English lessons, listen to the news on the radio and also play a game of chess with his father or his friend Ivan, who lives in the same house and often comes to see him. At half past eleven Oleg says good night to his parents and goes to bed. He generally sleeps seven or eight hours. On Saturday evening Oleg and his friend sometimes go to the students club or to the Internet club which is about five minutes walk from his house.

Its Monday evening now. Oleg is at home. He is learning new English phrases and words or the test. The student wants to master English, thats why he does his best to learn the vocabulary. He is listening to the tape and repeating after the speaker. As for the parents, they are watching TV news at the moment. Monday is really a difficult day, because its the beginning of a week.
