Структура компании, деятельность и управление
Большинство компаний состоят из трех основных групп: акционеры (shareholders), руководящее звено (the management) и непосредственные исполнители (workforce).
На самом верху иерархической лестницы располагается Совет директоров (the Board of Directors), возглавляемый лицом, которое в англоязычных странах называют Chairperson или President. Совет директоров по большей части занимается выбором стратегических решений, влияющих на развитие компании. Совет директоров обычно назначает генерального директора, ответственного за ведение бизнеса. В Великобритании эта должность носит название General Manager, а в США - Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.). Руководители старшего звена (Senior managers или, другими словами, Company officers) возглавляют различные отделы компании. Ступенью ниже находится руководство среднего звена.
