SELF-ACTUALIZATION PECULIARITIES OF STUDENTS WITH DIFFERENT PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATIONS

E. F. Jashenko

PhD, assistant professor of applied psychology chair, SUSU, Chelyabinsk

Self-actualization differences of economic and technical specialties university students were studied. Social-and-psychological factors of self-actualization (high intellectual development, business orientation, professional creativity, the absence of psychological barriers together with the prevailing role of value orientations) were determined. Self-actualization levels and their criteria were identified and studied. Universal self-actualization criteria (conscious self-acceptance, life awareness, life as a value, trustful courage, emotional wisdom as well as generalized criteria - nonadaptive activity, and conscious self-acceptance as life-meaning value) peculiar to students with different professional orientations were revealed

Key words: self-actualization, professional orientation, life-meaning orientations, values, hierarchy of needs.
