Strategy for Conservation of the Far Eastern Leopard in Russia was drafted by the working group established by the International Conference on the Preservation of the Far Eastern Leopard, which was held Oct. 28Nov. 3 1996 in Vladivostok.

The authors of the document are: D.K.Pikunov, V.K.Abramov, V.G.Korkish-ko, V.V.Aramilev, T.D.Arzhanova, V.P.Ka-rakin, P.V.Fomenko, V.G.Yudin, V.S.Luka-revsky, I.G.Nikolaev.

Compilation of proposals and preparation of the text G.V.Kolonin.

Russian version of the text was edited by E.N.Matyushkin, V.G.Krever.

Strategy for Conservation of the Far East-em Leopard in Russia was approved at the joint session of the section on Preserving Biological Diversity of the Science and Technology Council of the Russian State Committee for Ecology, and of the Commission on Large Predatory Mammals of the Mammalogical Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The paper also received the support of the Committee on Natural Resources of the administration of Primorski Krai.

Development and publication of Strategy for Conservation of the Far Eastern Leopard in Russia were initiated by the World Wildlife Fund with funds, provided by USAID.
