Ex.11 Prove that BSUIR provides good engineering education. Explain your point of view

Ex.12 Read the dialogue and say what you have learnt about Alexs student life. Do you have any problems with studies at university?

Alexs First Examinations are Coming

Nick: Hi, what university do you study at?

Alex: The Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.

Nick: Youre doing your first year then, arent you?

Alex: Yes, thats right. I entered it last summer and Im a first-year student of the Faculty of Computer-Aided Design. Im very interested in studying computer devices but sometimes its rather difficult and I dont have much time even for my football practice.

Nick: Well, the things are always like that with university studies.

Alex: I know you are graduating from the University, arent you, Nick?

Nick: Its not actually a university. Im in my last year at Technical College and, in addition, I often attend public lectures at the University of London.

Alex: Is it true that your lectures in Great Britain are not compulsory?

Nick: Well, yes, they are optional.

Alex: You know, here to prepare well for the seminars and then for credits I need to attend all the lectures and to take notes of everything.

Nick: Youll have your first examinations soon, I guess. I cant really remember how I passed my exams for the first time. I reckon they were easy.

Alex: Maybe they were easy enough for you but they will be much too hard for me. Im dead certain Ill fail in chemistry and descriptive geometry.

Nick: Oh, come on. Youll probably do better than you think.

Alex: No, Ive already flunked my credit in philosophy, it wasnt really my thing.

Nick: I guess it is difficult for everyone to try to interest oneself in things like that.
