Crane fork attachments

1. Jib overhead and lorry-mounted cranes fitted with a new range of fork attachments can perform many of the functions associated with forklift trucks. 2. Mainly designed for palletized loads each attachment has adjustable forks to suit varying pallet sizes. 3. The forks may also be pushed together to form a C hook shape, so bundles and coiled materials can be handled.

4. Forks are offered in three basic types, each with capacities ranging from one to two tons and are in three easily assembled sections complete with load capacity diagram and assembly instructions. 5. All components are zero maintenance rated.

Hand operated stacker

6. Model H 150 can handle pallets and heavy components with its capacity of 2240 lb (1100 kg) lifting to 68 in (1.72 m). 7. A special light weight high tensile steel mast is fitted and large diameter steel wheels are used for easy movement with a load.

8. Lifting is by a double acting pump with an overload protection device to give controlled descent in the event of fracture. 9. Other features include twin lifting chains, a T-bar for towing and either 40 in (1.016 m) adjustable fork or 27 in (686 mm) pallet truck fork.

Cranes

1. Once overhead travelling cranes were regarded as custom built equipment with all the delays, the design cost and the ugliness that this implies. 2. Today some manufacturers produce a range of standard equipment which can be adapted to any span in a very short time. 3. The travelling beams are provided with standard hoists which are simple to use and maintain. 4. Overhead cranes now have spans up to 30 m long and when operated in parallel bays their loads may be transferred from one line to the next by means of electric interlocking. 5. The capacity range of mass-produced hoists varies from 250 kg to over 50 tons. 6. One manufacturer supplies a device with the Euroloc hoists thus making it possible to check the use of the machine and to facilitate the calculation of costs. 7. Manufacturers efforts concerning aesthetic aspect of lifting equipment should be stressed. 8. Cranes are often manufactured with welded box girders which ensure increased rigidity and simplified maintenance while making it possible to obtain contours in harmony with modern work shop ideas. 9. Strict control of the weight of the load is now possible and no longer depends on the crane operato.
