might say yes.                                                                                       (Be)                                 J o e. You look fine. You can’t worry about that.

A l e x. Well, if I (5) … more  money, I could  take her to a really nice res-

taurant. Hey, could I borrow some money?                                         (Have)

A l e x. Yeah, you’re right.

J o e. Look,  maybe  if you (6) … so nervous about it, she’d say yes.  Just be yourself and ask her out. If she (7) … you,  she’ll go out with you.

(Be, like)

A l e x. Yeah, you’re right. I’ll call her and ask her out.

J o e. Great. I’ll see you later. Let me know what happens.

A l e x. Okay… Wait Joe. Wait. What if she  (8) … yes,  but  she  really doesn’t like me? Joe? Joe?                                                                                 (Say)
