Exercise 8. Listen to Mr Smith, the head of the Explorers Club, and complete the sentences.

Speaker 1[A male of 40-50, Br.E], Mr Smith

Dear friends,

Welcome to our International Explorers Club! Im Mr Smith, the head of the Club, and I am very pleased to see you here. This year, young explorers from North America, Asia and Europe have come to our meeting. They will live and study at our Club. Though our members are only 11−12 years old, they are already experienced travellers. Later, they will tell us about their unusual trips and exciting adventures. We are proud to say that new Columbuses and Magellans are among us!

Youll stay at the International Explorers Club for a month. During these four weeks youll meet famous explorers and sportsmen from different countries, play sports and visit some places of interest in England and Scotland. You will also have English classes, and I hope they will help you to improve your English.

Enjoy meeting new friends and seeing new places!
