11. 10-12 Living in the contemporary society: freedom or slavery.

If consider these two concepts freedom and slavery in the literal sense, it can be argued that we are free. The period of slavery ended a long time ago and today every person in the world with a legal point of view is free. But if to think about true freedom, most likely you come to the conclusion that living in contemporary society is slavery. Of course, people have always been slaves. But in ancient times they were slaves only of hunger and the weather. And now this list has expanded considerably. We are slaves of Internet and of other people opinions. We are slaves of fashion and mass media, slaves of trade and of mass market. In our days we are limited by many rules, starting from the rule how to use chopsticks to the rules how to raise a child in the right way. So, I think its very difficult to live in the contemporary society.
