Influence of music on efficacy of cognitive task solving

Exhaustive survey of researches on application of music as regulator of activity and functional state is presented. It is shown that most researches are aimed at studying influence of music on cognitive processes - attention, memory, perception, etc. Music's influence on sensory processes is not studied actually. So the task was set to study empirically influence of music on psychophysical characteristics. It was found that these characteristics improve after musical stimulation. The perspectives of further researches using the method of free verbal descriptions to analyze and form musical material are discussed.
