Complete the following Cover Letter




  Dear Ms. Roberts: Paragraph One State reason for letter, name the position or type of work you are applying for, and identify the source from which you’ve got to know of the vacancy (i.e.: career development center, newspaper, employment service, web advertisement, personal contact). Paragraph Two and may be Three Tell why you are interested in the position, the company, its products and services. Above all, stress what you can do for the employer. If you are a recent graduate, explain how your academic background makes you a qualified candidate for the position. If you have practical work experience, point out specific achievements or unique qualifications, even though these will also appear in your resume. In the cover letter, the description of your abilities will allow the reader not only to get a quick, efficient view of your major selling points; but also to understand your tone and personality. After pointing out your highlights and abilities that make you suitable for the position (internship, scholarship, prize money, etc.) refer the reader to your enclosed resume or application, which summarizes your qualifications, training, and experiences. This paragraph, or perhaps these two paragraphs, are very important. Here you use your rhetoric art in the best way. This is the place where you describe your experience, education, and personality to convince the reader that you are the one whom they need. Paragraph Three or Four Request a personal interview and indicate your flexibility as to the time and place. Write your phone number in the letter and offer assistance to help in a speedy response. For example, state that you will be in the city where the company is located on a certain date and would like to be interviewed. Or, state that you will call on a certain date and ask about the interview. Finish the letter by thanking the employer for the time to consider your application. Sincerely yours, Jane Jobseeker

Electronic Mail

Many companies send interoffice messages through the computer. Messages Sent by computer are called Electronic Mail or E - Mail. A company can link all its employees in one office by a computer or it can link its employees in offices around the country by a computer. There are usually six parts to an E-Mail transmission: the sender’s name, date and the time are usually supplied by the computer. You only type in the name of the person receiving the message, the subject and the message.
