Talk about the business of teaching English to foreigners in England (An English Language Teacher in Bath).

During reading of the story "An English Language Teacher in Bath we see that the author had used two different language features in the text. The first one is the language of description. Bath which is located in the county of Somerset is a very popular destination for tourists in the England and from all over the world. Bath boasts some of the most spectacular architectural buildings and sights in the world. As author notices "Bath like Venice and other beautiful cities, was a little like a museum."

So in this story Nick McLiver who writes articles "about people who work in every day jobs in various parts of Britain" visits Julian Gobdard, an English language teacher, who works in "fairly small school." And here author uses the second feature - the language of conversation from which we can understand what is the business of teaching English to foreigners in England.

So this is a very big and popular business. From different countries come students for training of foreign language. Also, there are summer programs for students who just can come in the summer. In addition to studying the schools do summer camps and other activities for students. There are also programs for adults who come for holidays or live here and work for local companies. In this case, for the teacher is enough to know just English. As Julian Gobdard notices, today teaching English in schools has improved, and when people come to his school, they already have a sufficient level of English "to communicate to a certain extent". If he would even know two or three languages, it would not help him much, because in a group can be "Swedes, an Italian, a Spaniard, a Japanese, a Russian and a Hungarian."

The main point is if you want to learn English well, you need to find as more ways as possible for study like radio, TV, books and what is more important to be not afraid to talk.

There are sometimes events in childhood that may cause unpleasant or sad memories. Prove or disprove this statement relying on the story Snowdrops. Recall a similar experience from your or someone elses childhood.

Children live in some other kind of world than adults. Everything is much simpler there, there much less difficulties, there are no so much responsibility. All the things seem to be different for them, I mean children are not aware yet of all the life as it is. But living alongside with adults, they may get a vision of real adults life just before they step in it themselves. Particularly, speaking about childrens attitude to teachers, we can say that children, especially small ones, look at them with great appreciation. They think that their teacher would not forget about them and would be the best one whatever happens. In the story Snowdrops we see that a young hero doesnt notice that his teacher looks different because of her close friends death. He doesnt notice that his teachers voice has become different and her appearance has changed by the influence of the tragedy which has stroke her. In such a situation children usually dont notice all the changes. And thats a lot because of the efforts of the teacher who shouldnt show his real feelings and stay sturdy and fulfill his duties, because he has a responsibility as a teacher and doesnt have to display his real emotions. But some events give children an evidence of the real picture of the adults world. Thus, the hero of Snowdrops compares a minute, fragile flower to his teacher. He sees flowers blow in a sudden gust of the cold wind and straighten again and he sees his teacher crying. By comparing thistwo creatures he can find them very much in common.

When I studied at the third form, our teacher was offered a vacancy in a more high-status school, where her job was better well-paid and she had better career prospects. We all knew why she had left us in the middle of the term and it made us understand that in spite of the teacher commitment to her pupils and her love to her job in general, money does matter.
