Let me first introduce myself. My name is Anna. My surname or last name is Petrova. I was born on the 11th of October in Makeyevka, Donetsk region. Now I am a first- year student at the Faculty of Law and Psychology of Makeyevka Institute of Economics and Humanities.

Now let me describe my appearance. I am tall and slim and have fair hair and blue eyes. My friends say I am pretty and easy- going. Unfortunately sometimes I am hot- headed a little. I love sports and music. I love to listen to the modern music and dance. I dance a lot and I hope I am good at it. I also love swimming.

I would like to tell you about my family. There are four of us. My fathers name is Ivan Nikolayevich. He is a therapist by education and works at a hospital now. My father is a very hard-working man. My mothers name is Natalya Sergeyevna. She works as a teacher at school. She also has much work about the house after she gets home. But my sister and I always help her. Yes! Let me introduce my younger sister! She is still a pupil. Her name is Tanya and she is in the tenth form. She is very pretty and a great dancer. She is also fond of reading. Tanya likes to read historical novels. By the way, my sister is good at cooking.

My grandparents are pensioners. We visit them very often and help them about house-keeping.

In May I finished school #16 in Makeyevka. I did well in all the subjects but my favourite subjects at school were Biology and Chemistry. I also enjoyed Geography lessons.

I am interested in learning English, and I think it is necessary to know at least one foreign language to be a well-educated person.

I think I shall do my best at the institute to become a great specialist.

TEXT MY WORKING DAY

As you know, I am a first- year student of the Institute of Economics and Humanities. My parents live in Amvrosiyevka, and I study in Makeyevka, so I need some housing. There are two opportunities for me: I can live in a dormitory (a students hostel), or to rent a flat (an apartment).

I decided to rent a room. To make a rent smaller, I also decided to share my room with another student.

Now let me describe my usual working day. So, on weekdays I have to get up at 7:10. I dont have an alarm clock and usually my roommate wakes me up and my working day begins. I turn on the radio and do my morning exercises. I dont take a bath in the morning because I dont have enough time for it. I just take a cool shower (thats when I completely wake up). After that I go back to our room and get dressed. Then I have breakfast. My roommate makes breakfast every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have to serve breakfast on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I love to listen to the latest news on the radio while I am eating.

I leave home at half past eight and walk to the nearest bus stop. I live rather close to the institute and it usually takes me about ten minutes to get there by bus. Sometimes when the weather is fine and I have enough time I walk to the institute. It is very healthy to walk much.

My classes begin at 8:00 o clock in the morning and they end at 14.10. We have lectures in different subjects. As a rule we have three or four classes a day. Usually I dont miss them because I want to pass my exams successfully. At 10.50 we have a big break. It lasts for 25 minutes. Thats my favourite time! Thats the time to share the latest news and to gossip. My friends and I prefer not to go to the canteen and we often have lunch in a small café not too far from the institute. During the working day we also have several short breaks.

Occasionally I have to stay at the institute till 4 or even 5 oclock in the evening because I go to the library to get ready for my practical classes or to write a report. As a rule I have no free time on weekdays. So by the end of the week I get very tired.

So, when I and my roommate come home in the evening, we have supper together and share the news.

After supper we wash dishes, have coffee or tea and watch TV. I prefer old comedies and my roommate likes soap- operas or films about travelling. Sometimes we go for a walk or visit our friends. At about eleven at night I go to bed. I like to read something or listen to music before going to bed. Sometimes I fall asleep while I am reading
