Note: All of the above listings actually go by or are published under the title of BOOK 4.... The Sangreal edition of 1969 differs from the 1972 edition. First, the 1969 edition has no copyright page. The only reference to a date is found at the bottom of the Preface by Israel Regardie, or March 21st 1969. The 1972 edition has a copyright page which states, "Second Sangreal Printing 1972" plus Regardie's Preface. More important, the 1969 edition eliminated "An Interlude" which is a seven page nursery rhyme chapter found between Chapter VI [which ends with page 37] and
Seven VII [which begins with page 38]. "An Interlude" has Latin caps at top of the pages: I-VIII. It also eliminated the one page following "An Interlude" which is titled "Note by Soror Virakam." These are included in the 1972 Sangreal edition.... The Gordon Press edition is a reprint of the 1972 Sangreal edition minus Israel Regardie's Preface and with slightly enlarged print size.... In the original issue of BOOK 4 the Interlude pages are numbered normally and this chapter occurs between The Cup and The Sword chapter in Part 2 (1913). It starts on page.81 and continues until the Note by Virakam on page 91. The first edition also has an errata sheet for Part II. Both the Gordon Press and Sangreal editions do not have this errata sheet.

Note: The Book of Lies is also falsely called BREAKS. The Wanderings or Falsifications of the One Thought of Frater Perdurabo, which Thought is itself Untrue. Crowley, "This book deals with many matters on all planes of the very highest importance. It is an official publication for Babes of the Abyss, but is recommended even to beginners as highly suggestive."... The original edition (1913) and the Hayden edition (1962) are similar and on page one is "Liber CCCXXXIII." On the next page it states "AA Publication in Classes C and D. Official For Babes of the Abyss. Imprimatur. N. Fra. AA." However, the Weiser edition (1970) changes "Liber CCCXXXIII" to "The Book of Lies." and eliminates - "AA Publication in Classes C and D....etc"... The Gordon Press edition is a facsimile of the Weiser edition.

Note: It has been said that no copy of this manuscript survives but this is not true, it is simply
unpublished. Besides that which Crowley himself publishes, claiming their origin from The Book
of Oaths, there are eight scrolls with numerous poems in each at the Warburg. Only the first scroll
is broken down and added into this issue of Red Flame. It contains a short Preface and eighteen
unpublished poems.... Another manuscript of The Book of Oaths sold at Sotheby's in December of 1996 containing only Scrolls I-VI, it was listed as being 440 pages long and was dated circa 1919.
