Text 5. My day off

My day off
On Sunday it isn't necessary to get up early in the morning, that's why I wake up at about 9 o'clock. It's pleasant to stay in bed later than usual. But still I get up and do my morning exercises. It goes without saying that first I go to the bathroom. I enjoy my morning shower. After that I have my breakfast. Then I usually look through some newspapers and magazines, which I keep for Sunday reading. In the afternoon I often spend my free time watching TV. I like musical programmes. My favourite singer (group) is.... Ihave him (it) on my brain. When there is nothing special on TV, I go to the cinema. I am fond of comedies and thrillers. In winter when the weather is lovely, my friends and I go to ski. I look forward to it during the week. To my mind skiing is the most usefulkind of sport. It makes the body strong. I also enjoy nature in the forest. I don't go in for other kinds of sport. In the afternoon I am sometimes busy with another hobby. That is to collect stamps. It always takes me much time to find and classify them. I never forget about housework. At home there is always plenty of work to do. I clean carpets, wash up and g shopping. The last thing is very boring. I hate queues and I don't like to be pushed. I prefer staying at home in front of a TV-set, but I can't let the grass grow under my feet and I do my best to help my mother. In the evening I usually go out. My friend and I drop ina cafe. My girlfriend and I sometimes go to a disco. After that Isee her home. M day off is over. I usually go to bed at 12 o'clock. | necessary still it goes without saying enjoy a shower [΄òauə] have somebody on one's brain ... ski[ski:] useful nature forest go in for classify [΄klæsıfaı] boring queue [kju:] push [può] let the grass grow under one's ft go out drop in ... see somebody home - |
