Ive got a pet dog. His name is Chuckles. Hes eleven. Chuckles has got big ears and a fat body. He is very cute! Chuckles is very clever, too! He can run, jump and climb. He can dance, too. Oh, I love Chuckles!

It is a federation of states. The official language in Australia is English. The capital of the country is Canberra. Australia is famous for kangaroos. The largest city is Sidney. Today Australia is one of the most developed countries in the world. Australia produces and exports large amounts of minerals and farm goods.

Canada is the second largest country in the world. It is situated in North America. Canada is a federation of 10 provinces and 2 territories. There are two official languages in Canada. They are English and French. The capital of the country is Ottawa. The largest cities are Toronto and Montreal. Canada is famous for hockey and the Niagara Fall. The population of Canada is about 28 million people. The official symbol of the country is the maple. Today Canada is one of the most highly developed countries in the world.

 

20. USA

The full name of the USA the United States of America. The capital is Washington. There are 51 states there. The flag of the USA is often called The Stars and Stripes. There are 50 stars on it: one for each state.

The flag has 13 stripes. There are 7 red stripes and 6 white stripes: one stripe for each of the first 13 colonies of the USA.

The eagle became the official national symbol of the country in 1782. One of the most famous symbols of the USA is the Statue of Liberty. Uncle Sam is a cartoon symbol of the American Government. The United States has two main political parties: the Democrats (the Donkey) and the Republicans (the Elephant)

 

21. Washington

Washington is the capital of the United States of America. It is situated in the District of Columbia on the river of Potomac. It is like no other city of the USA. Its the worlds largest one-industry city. And that industry is government. The White House, where the US President lives and works, the Capitol, are all in Washington.

Washington was named after the first US President George Washington.

Washington is one of the most beautiful and unusual cities in the United States. There are many parks, squares with monuments and memorials. The most impressive and the best-known ones are the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. The Washington Monument was built in honour of George Washington. It is 555 feet tall.

22. New-York

New York is on the Hudson River. Another name for New York is Big Apple.

It consists of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx. The heart of New York is Manhattan. It has a lot of places of interest.

The Empire State Building is one of them. It became the tallest skyscraper in New York on September 11, 2001.The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is a real architectural masterpiece. Statue of Liberty is one of the most famous symbols of America. Broadway isnt just one of the longest avenues in Manhattan.. Another symbol of New York is the Rockefeller Center. In winter time, you can see the Rockefeller Center Christmas trees, which are the largest and the most beautiful in New York. The fastest way to see New York is by metro. You need to buy a Metro Card, and it will take you all over the city.

23. Mark Twain

Mark Twain is a famous American writer and a journalist. His real name was Samuel Clemens. He was born in 1835 in Florida. He worked as a journalist in newspapers in Nevada and California. His father died when the boy was only 12 years old. Twain had to start working with his brother. After the Civil War he worked as a reporter. He wrote many stories: The adventure of Tom Sawyer, Life on Mississippi, The prince and the Pauper etc.

24. Sport

Sport is very popular among people in all the countries. Sport makes people healthy and keeps them feet. It unites people of different classes and nationalities. Many people do sports on their personal initiative. They go in for skiing, skating, table tennis, swimming, volleyball, football etc.

Physical training is a compulsory subject in our school. Different sports and games are popular with my classmates. All my friends go in for different kinds of sport. I like do sports too. I can play volleyball and basketball. I like swimming and skating. Sport helps me to be healthy and better disciplined.
