4. He stressed U.S. support for Russias participation in the WTO, GATT, its partnership and cooperation with the EU and other institutions important to European and global economic and security architecture.

During the meetings of the second stage of the Conference, contributions were received, and statements heard, from the following non-participating Mediterranean States on various agenda items: the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria, the Syrian Arab Republic, the Republic of Tunisia.
