Organization of practical training for students

The followings are considered as criterions of completing the bachelor’s degree education (based on full-time education): mastering the required academic course, doing the practical, production and pre-diploma trainings, passing the state proficiency test, writing and defensing the thesis work.

Practical training is one of the important and obligatory forms of educational process and is aimed to reinforce and deepen the theoretical learnings, acquisition of independent skills and allows the students to evaluate the degree of competence gained.

Bachelors, trained under specialty 5В050600 - Economics, shall do the types of practical trainings, shown in Table 5.4 below.

Practical training is done with aim to gain practical skills for drawing up statistical and financial reports of the company, examining the initial documentation of company activity.

Production training is done with aim to review the company management structure, to study the structure and efficiency of using the company resources, to study the structure and dynamics of company costs and income and indices of company performance efficiency, to study the planning system for company performance rate. Also the production training is aimed to reinforce and deepen the learnings and skills while solving the specific problems of company organization and management, to deliver a creative approach to practical activity.

Pre-diploma training is done with aim to prepare the students for practical work, as well as to collect required materials and documents with regard to thesis work.

Premises for professional trainings can be companies and organizations of various type of ownership, research laboratories of appropriate profile.

Main educational materials, which determine the practical training and regulating the educational activity of the students at practical training, are P VKGU 702.02 «Regulations for practical training». In accordance to these documents a respective programs are developed for each type of practical training.

These documents assure a single complex approach to organize the professional training: training, consistency, continuity and succession for student education.

Responsibility for organization and conducting the practical training is born by respective department and university’s academic department. In order to form the training bases the respective department pays great attention to organization of department branches and concluding contracts with hosting companies. Main training bases for «Economics» are shown in Table 5.5 below.

Some companies listed in training base table take part in SPFIID project. Thus, in 2010-2011 academic year 46 students have done the pre-diploma training in companies, which take part in SPFIID project. Biggest share was taken by LLP «Kazzinc» (26%), LLP «Kazakhmys Corp» (26%), JSC «UKTMP» (11%). Most of practical training hours are spent in JSC «AsiaAuto», LLP «Vostok Moloko», JSC «KEGOC». Production trainings are done almost in all companies, which take part in the project (11 companies).

Successful partnership with companies during the production trainings allow to expand the possibilities for joint development of integrated education and production programs, to concentrate the high-qualified professionals in taking part in educational process; to join the efforts of the parties in researches and increase the qualification of university employees. Cooperation with companies during professional trainings allows the students to resolve research tasks as an example of activity of specific hosting companies and locally implement their developments.
