Abstract: Currently there is a widespread construction of such structures as embankments, retaining walls. To create such facilities are used predominantly sandy soils. Soils are experiencing significant burden, often leading to disruption of the structure of reasons. This article examines a method of reinforcement of sandy soils polypropylene discrete fibers. During researches it is established that the introduction into the sand of discrete fibers has a positive effect on shear parameters: specific cohesion and angle of internal friction. This increases the ability of soil to resist to external loads and to hold the internal voltage. Produced analytical calculations for determination of stability of slopes of embankments and determination of active pressure backfill of retaining walls. These calculations are checked in the software system "PLAXIS 2D". The results obtained prove the efficacy of the proposed technology of soil reinforcement.
