Etiology (from Greek wordsaitia reason, cause, logos - study)
is the study about the causes and conditions of disease
The cause is the factor which causes disease and gives it specific features.
- the cause of disease precedes development of disease
- there is a parallelism between intensity of the pathogenic factor and severity of illness
- elimination of the pathogenic factor, as a rule, results in disappearance of symptoms of illness
- with the help of the prospective cause of disease it is possible to reproduce model of the disease in experiment
Conditions are the factors which promote or prevent disease occurrence.
The etiotropic principle of prophilaxis and therapy of illnesses means
the actions directed on elimination of the cause of diseases and improving organisms resistance

Pathogenesis (Greek. pathos - illness, genesis - development) is the study about mechanisms of development of illness.
Pathogenesis i s a complex of the interconnected processes of damage and adaptation, arising at illness.
The main (leading) part (link) of pathogenesis is the factor which cause the development of other links (factors) of pathogenesis
The vicious circle in pathogenesis (circulus vitiosus) is formation of a positive feedback between the links of pathogenesis when the chain of lesions becomes a circle and the following lesion makes worse the previous one.
Pathogenetic therapy
are the measures directed on elimination of the main and other pathogenetic factors

INFLAMMATION - (greek - phlogosis, latin - inflammatio) is a typical pathologic process characterized by alteration, exudation (changes in the microvasculature followed by fluid and protein exudation and leukocyte emigration), proliferation
he causes of inflammation are phlogogens: exogenous (biological, mechanical, physical, chemical
social) and endogenous (products of tissue damage, toxic metabolites, haemorrhages, free radicals
Components of inflammation are
alteration
