Our University

I am a first-year student of the university in our town. Our university is big. There are many students in it and there are a lot of buildings for our studies.

Our university has some engineering faculties. These are the faculty of information technologies, of electronics and computing systems. There is also another faculty. It is mechanical-engineering one. I am a student of information technologies faculty. I will have a profession of an engineer in information systems. But my friends will be the specialists in the field of applied computing, programming and computing machines.

The students of our faculty have a lot of different subjects, for example physics, mathematics, chemistry, history, drawing, physical training and some others. These are general subjects. We have them in the first and the second year. We also have a lot of special subjects. They are computer science, programming, databases, computer networks, design of computing devices and so on. It is possible for all the students to learn a foreign language such as English or German. My favourite subject is computer science but it is important for me to learn English too.

There are some other faculties at our university. The students of these faculties will be the specialists in such fields as economics, law, social work and so on.

At the university all the students have lectures, practical and laboratory classes. There are a lot of labs for our training. We have lessons in such labs as physical, chemical, electronical, computing ones and others. It is also necessary for us to do all the lessons at home. All the students have their exams two times a year. It is a very difficult time for us.

The students life in the university is very interesting. We have different parties, the game What, Where, When, sports competitions, for example in football, volleyball, basketball and so on. My favourite game is volleyball, but it is impossible for me to play basketball. It is a very difficult game for me.

Our university is fine and I am glad to study at it.
