Some days ago our group visited museum- exhibition centerSilur.Silur Joint Stock Company is the biggest in Ukrainemanufacturer of steel ropes and wire for different branches ofindustry and the only ^ manufacturer of steel cord for motor -car tyres.
Our guide told us about the history of this enterprise and itsproduction nowadays. The history of Khartsyzsk steel wireand ropes factory began in 1949 with the production of ropewire. In the museum-hall we saw some stands with photos ofthe first workers and managers of this plant.

During.50 year's the enterprise has adjusted the output ofabout 2,000 dimension -types of steel wire and ropescomplying with 90 standards and produced about 10 milliontones of wire and 5 million tones of ropes. Using the ropesproduced during half of a century we can cover the globe byequator for more than 100 times.

In 1994 the enterprise was reorganized into Silur JointStock Company that became a new stage of its history.Structural reformation allowed to be more flexible in reactingto the demands of the marketSilur is very perspectiveventure of many profiles. Its products were exported to 26countries throughout the world. This p;lant has got manyawards for the quality of its production, among them:Diploma of International Academic Rating of Popularity andQuality, Golden Fortune, Golden Skiff.
Excursion to the museum exhibition center Silur was veryuseful for us because our future profession is closelyconnected with metallurgy. Besides, it increased our knowledge about native town.
