Personality voluntary self-regulation traits across life span are considered. Psychobiographic traits of persons with different types of activity self-regulation are revealed empirically. The results of the research denote that processes of activity self-regulation and construction of life course are interconnected only to some extent. For persons with autonomous type of activity self-regulation life course construction is determined by causal motivation. They are not inclined to set forward-looking life goals and achieve them though in concrete activity they are purposeful and self-dependent. Causal determination (the determination by the past is spontaneous) of life span makes a person mature ("the aged") while goal determination (the determination by the future is voluntary) rejuvenates person's inner life.

Key words: subject, activity self-regulation type, life span, psychobiographic personality traits.
