Psychology in USA in the years of World War II

The main directions of military-psychological researches in USA in the years of World War II are considered: professiological (personnel selection) and sensory-perceptive ones, psychological providing of troop training of soldiers, besides pathopsychological, consultative and rehabilitative-readaptative directions, engineering psychology and psychological operations, too. The essence of program approach to explorative and applied problems is described. The results of American psychologists working in the field of security are analyzed.

Key words: American psychology, purposive psychological programs, personnel selection, psychophysiology of sensory systems, psychological operations, psychological rehabilitation and readaptation.
