Blood microcirculation in the parodontal tissue of patients with autoimmune thyroiditis at various stages of the disease

Key words: parodontitis, microcirculation, autoimmune thyroiditis, flowmetry, functional loading

Materials and methods. The research was conducted in 3 groups of patients with autoimmune thyroiditis depending on the thyroid gland endocrine function: group 1 - patients with autoimmune thyroiditis at the hypothyroidism stage - 31 patients; group 2 - patients with autoimmune thyroiditis at the stage of normal thyroxin concentration - 30 persons; and the control group of patients having no evident somatic pathology - 30 patients aged 20- 35, a men-women ratio in the investigated groups being identical. Abnormalities in microcirculation caused with impaired thyroid gland function can lead to severe oral cavity pathology, periodontopathy in particular, postoperative complications and therefore, to extended recovery terms and poor prognosis. The proposed functional tests with irrigation have made it possible to carry out a thorough examination of microcirculatory blood condition in the parodontal tissue and to identify pathology early in the initial stage of the disease. Carrying out the given functional tests with irrigation allow to make exact rather than empirical recommendations on the use of an irrigation device. The functional loading consisting of a series of hydroirrigations has given a statistically significant difference in reactions of microcirculatory bed to water stream on indicators σ 3 in all three groups and σ 4 in the group one and three. It demonstrates a difference of reserve possibilities of adaptive reactions in all three compared groups. The obtained data dilates possibilities of early diagnostics and assessment of functional differences of microcirculatory reactions in patients with thyroid gland pathology at various stages of the disease and in practically healthy subjects.
