Read the extract from D. Crystal book English as a global language. Do you agree with the statements?

Global Language?

A language becomes international or global for one reason only the power of the people who speak it. But of curse power means different things at different times. In the case of English, the language has spread as a result of a combination of political/ military power (the British Empire), scientific/technological power (the Industrial Revolution), economic power (pounds and later dollars), and cultural power (broadcasting, pop songs, tourism, internet and etc.)

Do you know any organizations in your country that widespread English culturally?
