Global education has five learning emphases or perspectives:

Interdependence and globalisation an understanding of the complex social, economic and political links between people and the impact that changes have on each other;

Identity and cultural diversity an understanding of self and ones own culture, and being open to the culture of others;

Social justice and human rights an understanding of the impact of inequality and discrimination, the importance of standing up for our own rights and our responsibility to respect the rights of others;

Peace building and conflict resolution an understanding of the importance of building and maintaining positive and trusting relationships and ways conflict can be prevented or peacefully resolved;

A Master's Degree is an academic degree granted to individuals who have undergone study demonstrating a mastery or high-order overview of a specific field of study or area of professional practice. A Masters Degree qualifies individuals who apply an advanced body of knowledge in a range of contexts for research, a pathway for further learning, professional practice and/or scholarship.

Within the area studied, graduates are posited to possess advanced knowledge of a specialized body of theoretical and applied topics; high order skills in analysis, critical evaluation or professional application; and the ability to solve complex problems and think rigorously and independently. They are awarded after graduation from university.

In some languages, a master's degree is called a magister or a cognate. There are various degrees of the same level, such as engineer's degrees, which have different names for historical reasons.

Titles of Master`s Degrees

The two most common titles of master's degrees are the Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Science (M.S., M.Si., or M.Sc.). Some universities use the Latin degree names; because of the flexibility of word order in Latin, the Master of Arts and Master of Science may be known as magister artium or artium magister and magister scientiae or scientiae magister, respectively. Harvard University, for example, uses A.M. and S.M. for their master's degrees. More commonly, Master of Science often is abbreviated MS or M.S. in the United States, and MSc or M.Sc. in Commonwealth nations and Europe.

Master of Arts (M.A.)

A Master of Arts degree is a general graduate degree that is usually associated with different specializations. Some of the specializations are Psychology, English, Human Resources, Education and Counseling. Master's degree programs may be either research-based, coursework-based or a combination of the two. A Bachelor's Degree is normally required for admission to a Master's Degree program. The average time to complete this program is two years after the completion of a Bachelor's Degree.

Master of Science (M.S.)

A Master of Science degree is based on scientific learning. A bachelor's degree in a related field is almost always a prerequisite science, information science, aviation and environmental studies. Graduates who have earned a Master of Science degree often go on to pursue a doctoral degree.
