Battleships of the US Navy in World War II

by Stefan Terzibaschitsch

192 pages 148 photographs 115 drawings

This handsome large format volume details the development of the greatest fighting ships of all time - the American battleships of World War II.

Lavishly illustrated with photographs, deck plans and silhouette drawings, the book covers all the classes of battleships involved in World War II. Because many older ships were kept in service, it is almost a history of the U. S. Battleship while it also includes mention of later Korean War Service. The text includes details of construction, armament, radar and wartime camouflage.

Additionally there is a chapter on Japanese battleships, the design of which greatly influenced American thinking.

The author, Stefan Terzibaschitsch, is an experienced naval writer and has drawn on several private collections of photographs, as well as receiving help from the U. S. Department of the Mavy. Originally published in Germany, this is a revised English language edition.
