Genotype and environmental ratios experimental study under speech acoustic characteristics

D. N. Tchernov *, A. J. Parshukov **

* PhD, assistant professor of general psychology chair, Russian State medical University

** Psychologist, junior member of general psychology chair, the same place

Genotype and environmental ratios under speech acoustic characteristics are considered. The study results demonstrate, that individual indices (30 indices) of pitch frequency (F 0) and four formant frequencies (F 1- F 4) have a considerable intraindividual stability. It is revealed that interindividual variability of Fo mean indices is significantly genetically conditioned; the subjects' differences in intraindividual variability of F 0 are explained by the influence of individual environment factors. Genetic effect and individual environment factors influence on interindividual differences in frequency indices of the first three formants (F 1- F 3) are revealed. It is shown experimentally, that moderate panto-environmental influence on formation of individual differences in F 2 and F3 mean values are explained by common to all subjects phonetical peculiarities of spoken linguistic material.

Key words: genotype and environmental ratios, twins' method, speech acoustic characteristics, pitch frequency, formant frequencies.

CORRESPONDENCE OF JUDGES' BEHAVIOUR TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF PROCEDURAL JUSTICE (the Lithuanian case of legal proceedings)

G. Valickas *, V. Justickis **

* ScD (psychology), professor of Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania

** Hab. ScD(law), professor of University of Mykolas Romeris, Vilnius, Lithuania

The present investigation examined the correspondence of judges' behaviour to the established requirements of procedural justice. The method of observation of judges' behaviour was specially constructed for this research. Observers after special training observed 103 court trials of three citys' courts and the one district court of Vilnius. The role of the court trial procedures in the formation of feeling of justice was assessed by the method of experts. The results indicated, that the correspondence of judges' behaviour to the requirements of procedural justice was very different in different situations (it fluctuates from 0 to 80 percent). It was found, that the above-mentioned correspondence depends on the peculiarities of the representation of these requirements in the processual law. It was also confirmed, that there are considerable differences between the different styles of judging as well as between the real behaviour of judges and the evaluations of experts. The results suggest that for the instillation of the requirements of procedural justice into the criminal process we need to formulate the requirements for judges' behaviour as precise and detailed norms of law.

Key words: court trial procedures, procedural justice, feeling of justice, behaviour of judges, styles of judging.
