Professional identity of Personality: psychosemantic approach

M. M. Abdoullaeva

Senior res. ass., department of psychology, Moscow State University named after Lomonosov

Professional identity is considered as a potential characteristic of professionals' subjective reality. It is studied on the basis of opposition research related to self- consciousness functioning - "real I" and "ideal I". Professional identity was operationally defined as semantic contiguity of constructs "by myself (presentation of my real professional qualities), "real I" (whom I want to be) and "potential I" (whom I can be). As were lawyers, therapists and accountants.

Key words: professional activity, professional identity, subjective model of reality, concept of "self' in professionals.
