DUALITY OF HUMAN LANGUAGE ABILITY NATURE

T. N. Ushakova

Correspondent member ofRAE, professor, Dr. sci. (psychology), head res. ass., IP RAS, Moscow

Theoretical analysis of the problem of language development determination is presented. Different approaches are discussed - "sociological model", innateness of grammatical structures (N. Chomsky) and "constructivism" (J. Piaget). Psychogenetic data are presented that argue in favor of genetic influence on differential differences in language use. Self-development in language ontogenesis is considered in the context of genotype-environment interaction problem. The question of natural basis of language origin in phylogenesis is discussed.

Key words: ontogenesis and phylogenesis, speech and language ability, genotype-environment interaction, self-development in language ontogenesis, hypothesis on the language origin in phylogenesis.
