Structure of personality' social identity: the problem of analysis

N. L. Ivanova

Dr. sci. (psychology), docent of the chair of psychology, Yaroslavl State Pedagogic University, Yaroslavl

There are analyzed the results of empirical research of social identity structure. It's assumed that there is no proper models of social identity that emphasize components hierarchy, their essence and functioning. The attempt was made to overcome these problems using the notion of social identity as an integral issue. There are analyzed the structural components of social identity that are based on interrelation of cognitive and value-motivational personal traits.

Key words: social identity, theory of social identity, self-identification, system of personal constructs, values, motivation.
