Mr. Kings Working Day

Steve King is a lawyer in London. He is English. He is 30. He is very busy. In the morning he gets up at about 6.30. His wife and children get up later. He goes to the bathroom to take a bath. Then he has breakfast. For breakfast he has some eggs, coffee and sandwiches. His office-hours begin at 9 oclock but he usually comes earlier to get ready for work. Mr. Kings office is in the Strand not far from the Temples and the Inns. There is a notice on the door of his office: St. King, Sol., LLB. The office is large and comfortable. There are a lot of files on the table and on the shelves in Mr. Kings office.

There is an arm-chair near the window for his clients and a writing table with a lamp and a telephone on it for Steve. There are some papers, a P.C. and an in-tray on the table. Also there is a fax machine, a telex and a bookshelf with different law books on the wall.

Mr. King has got much work to do every day. He is usually very busy till six oclock and stays in the office all day.

In the morning the secretary brings him letters, cables and telexes. He reads the mail and sends answers. Every day he looks through a lot of legal documents. Mr. King usually receives clients in his office and discusses different problems with them. Mr. King is a solicitor. It is his job to give advice to non-professional clients.

At 12.30 Mr. King has lunch. He finishes work at 6 oclock in the evening but if there is some urgent business he stays at the office later.

Mr. King usually has dinner at home. After dinner he reads newspapers, listens to the radio or watches television. He goes to bed at 11 oclock. Not much time is left for the family. They are looking forward to the week-end to spend their free time together.
